Bug Report 23.0.1 on 2017 MacBook Pro (Mojave) slow to access image files, but no problem on a 2011 iMac

After updating to 23.0.1 on both my MBP and iMac, accessing image files from the SSD on the 2017 MPB is painfully slow. No problem on the 2011 iMac. Both running Mojave. Before updating to 23.0.1 there was no delay at all on the MBP. OBS will eventually get around accessing the image files (when I try to add one as a source) on the MBP, but it might take 10-15 seconds. And they are not big files by any means. Again, this was never a problem before updating to 23.0.1. on the MBP, and has never been a problem on the iMac. Anyone have an idea what's wrong? How to fix? Love OBS, but this is a bit annoying. Thanks
