2025 Method for Monitoring OBS Audio in "What You Hear Is What You Get" Format?

I am returning to OBS after several years of focusing solely on video production. The last time I worked with OBS, in order to hear exactly what viewers of my livestreams were hearing, I had to use a combination of the Audio Mixer plug-in and two or three different NDI plug-ins. Frankly, it was a pain-in-the-butt, and the thing that pushed me more in the studio production direction. I'm wondering if there is a better way to do this now. Specifically, I want to hear audio cross-fading in my monitor as I cross-fade two video sources on the screen. Thank you!
