1440p streaming

Hello guys!

I'd like to upgrade to 1440p streaming from 1080p.
I play 1920x1080 (Full HD monitor) - stream on a dedicated streaming PC 1080p x264 slow
My scene collection (very complex) is based on 1920x1080 resolution.

I would like to keep the same scenes (takes too much time to resize everything) and use:
Base resolution: 1920x1080

Scaled resolution: 2560x1440

Would that be the same thing like if i had the base resolution 2560x1440 and if i have stretched everything on the scenes to fit the screen?

If i loose quality this way i will take a day off to create 2K scenes

Thanks a lot!

If the main thing you capture for streaming (your 1920x1080 monitor) isn't 2560x1440, only your overlays and addons, it makes no sense to stream at 2560x1440, because with upscaling you only bloat the image data and double the bandwidth requirement. You don't add detail by upscaling. Since you will probably not be able to double the bitrate, you will actually lower your quality by upscaling, because there's less bitrate available per detail. (same detail + double data = double bitrate requirement for same detail)

Thanks for the answer! I perfectly understand that, but i was thinking that YouTube might compress less the image and this way i might get even better 1080p? Also, my viewers are asking for 2K.

Anyway i can do some test livestreams, but the questions is: it is ok to upscale from the Video section in settings, or better create new scenes for 1440p, set the main resolution to 1440p in the Video section and don't upscale?
