fade to black

Sorry if this is the wrong forum. Whenever I grab a star in super mario 64 and the screen fades to black the game capture seems to stop capturing until the screen is no longer black. Is there anyway to tell OBS not to skip black screens when it is capturing games? I'm using project 64 version...
