As of OBS Studio 29.0, the portable version no longer loads the system-installed plugins in the %programdata% environment directory and requires the files to be meticulously copied to the appropriate directories within the OBS Portable install.
This is tedious because:
- There's two branching locations to copy the necessary files to
- You need to do it exactly as Elgato mentions it
- Your plugin files in the OBS Studio Portable directory won't get updated (all new plugin file releases are put back in the %programdata% environment directories)
This script makes that process easier for whenever Elgato releases an update, or for anyone doing big brain things and moving to a portable version of OBS Studio.
