OBS audio and video freezes after some time in screen capture. Only way to rerecord is to quit and reopen the app.

I faced this issue only recently. I found out about it after screen recording for about an hour. When I exported and played the video, only 40 minutes were recorded, the frame was frozen at one point and there was no audio or video recorded after that point. Later when I faced the issue again, I tried adding a new source, new scene....but nothing seemed to work. Only way of rerecording is for me to quit the app and restart. Then also it freezes after sometime....and hence the vicious cycle. Im on MacOS sonoma Version 14.4.1 and I have the most recent version of OBS.

Same happened to me today, I think is Mac update, my desktop volume frozen and doesn't even work

I found a way around this issue. I usually use it to record zoom. So instead of screen capture, I used window capture and selected the zoom meeting as the window. The video did not get frozen so far. I have recorded more than 10 times using the method now. Hope it helps.
