The Windows release of OBS Studio supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.
Windows Vista is supported with Service Pack 2.
The macOS release of OBS Studio supports macOS 10.10 and newer.
The Linux release is available officially for Ubuntu 14.04 and newer. FFmpeg is required.
For Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, FFmpeg is not officially included so you will need a specific PPA:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kirillshkrogalev/ffmpeg-next
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install ffmpeg
For Ubuntu 15.04 and following versions, FFmpeg is officially included:
sudo apt-get install ffmpeg
After installing FFmpeg, install OBS Studio using:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:obsproject/obs-studio
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install obs-studio
The original Open Broadcaster Software bundle comes with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions and is available only for Windows. OBS Classic is no longer supported or maintained; please use OBS Studio for new projects.
This program and its source code are freely available for all to use and change under the GNU General Public License v2.0 (or greater), which you agree to when using this program or its source code.
