Question / Help Window subregion alternatives or timeline?

I know that you're not able to select subregions from windows on the Mac and that's disappointing.

1 - Are the alternatives for selecting regions from windows? Specifically, I would like to show the Twitch chat window, or at least a part of it.

2 - Is there a timeline for when the Mac side will support subregions? Seems like such a vital component of streaming, I hope it would be added soon.

Yes but I couldnt quite get that to work. you can can only crop in three dimensions which makes it unrealistic for the twitch chat window. The cropping in that particular feature of OBS is wonky at best :(
