Question / Help Webcam Compatible with C920

I have two C920 cams and as you all know the Logitech software only can control one of them.

Can anyone suggest a Webcam comparable to the C920 but from a different manufacturer that has it's own software and drivers that I can use simultaneously with the C920 and that I control individually without the headaches there are with using two C920's???

Thanks guys, I appreciate the suggestions.

I have two C910 and one C920
Before I got this new I7 board I could use all of them...
Right now, I have been trying to use all three, but the two C910 are causing problems with the ob classic.
The op studio is too complicated and hard for me to use. even there all the cameras are not working.
The strange thing is... all the cameras work in Nero, Skype, Flash Media, VLC player, Corel vid studio, Cyperlink powerdirector 15. Makes me wonder why OB is having so much problems with making cameras work.
I sure would hate to have to go back to ManyCam.
Let me know if you find any fixes.

Like I said, as far as I know, Logitech software can only recognize and control one cam at a time so there are problems with the software. You can only focus, zoom etc. only one of them. In my case, it's the focus that gives me the most trouble.

I gave up trying to get them to work together and just ordered a Microsoft cam that's being delivered this week.
Being both use their own drivers and software I will be able to use both of them at the same time.. At least I hope so from what I have read.

You can get two cams to run in OBS windows but they have to be on separate USB buses, then two will function at the same time on the same scene. This though is still from what I've found problematic and doesn't always display the capture.

Thanks VAK but the problem is still the auto focus and zoom.
I can use both my C920's with no problem.. It's the individual control that's the problem.
The fact remains that the problem is that the Logitech software only controls ONE camera and that's it.
My cams are for outdoor use, through a window, so constant lighting conditions change all day from sun to cloudy etc. and the automatic focus and other auto settings are important for my use.

That's why I bought the new Microsoft cam to use with my C920.

I read that the C930 uses different software and drivers so they can be controlled individually.

Like I said, the problem lies with the Logitech software only being able to control ONE cam.. No exceptions to that limitation.

Can you not set them manually e.g. focus?

No. .The software only controls ONE cam..
You can swap cams by unplugging and plugging back in to adjust each one but who wants to do that all day.

It has even been discussed on the Logitech Forums..
Google it and you'll see it's a big problem.

Could you use another PC and feed that cam feed into obs remotely? could be possible via a local virtual instance also, this would allow both cams to be controlled independently, not idea but should be possible if you want to use the same camera models, If not then as you say a different model / make cam.

I guess that would be possible but, even if it was, I don't want to tie up my other PC for that. Also, I don't have that PC on all day.
It's simpler to just use the other cam when it gets delivered this week

Hi everyone!

Forget and unisntall logitech software. With the sofware "Control Cam" I can operate and use autofocus and auto exposure on all 3 cams (all are c920), the logitech sofware must be uninstalled (not the drivers) to work properly. Go down through the thread given and you will see the "control cam" software.

I connect all three cameras on the same usb bus (2.0) and they work properly.

Edit: adding screenshots

As you can see there is a check box right to some sliders that indicates if auto is engaged.

Can you select TWO CAMS at the same time?

Not at the same time, yo must select in "Camera Selection" a camera, then change whatever you want and so on with any other cam. If I understod your question the answer is no, you can not change the settings more than one camera at the same time, one camera at the time.

At this very moment I tried and it worked, you can open serveral instances of the control cam and select one different camera on each instance, and do the settings you need, but again, selecting two cameras at the same time and do the same adjustments its not possible.

Well, that's the whole problem.
From what I understand what you are saying is that only the Auto focus etc. will only work on the selected cam so if you have two cams displaying then only one of them will auto focus etc. at one time.
To control two cams simultaneously you need two different cams suing software unique to each cam.

It's good software but for me all it eliminates is unplugging and re-plugging in the different cam.
I appreciate what you have said.

Yes and no ^_^

You must set the adjustments individually but once it is done the settings are remembered... sorry but english is not my native language....

You select cam 1, set the autofocus and a certain gain.
Select cam 2 and set the autofocus off and auto white balance.

the 2 cams remain as you configured it whatever you do after that (if you change the adjustments they change of course).

That's my point.
When using cams during the day the light conditions change all day long so each cam has to adjust automatically to the prevailing conditions.
With the Logitech software it can only recognize one cam at a time until you re-plug the other cam so the software recognizes it. You can be doing this all day long.

You're English is fine...It's a confusing subject..
