Well let's not be too dramatic. :) You've tested and it still works with v0.582? You can download it from here if you need - http://sourceforge.net/projects/obsproj ... p/download

And if you're just recording locally you probably don't need to use QuickSync anyway given your CPU, so you could could just disable it under Settings > Advanced.

Downloaded & tried but came up with the same error message.

I had a friend recommend QuickSync who said that it'd help me record @ 60fps.

I guess that absolves the latest version from fucking you over then. Was QuickSync working before and now it doesn't? Or did you just turn it on and started getting this error? If it was working before, have you made any changes to your system that could have caused it to stop working, like a clean install if video card drivers, or changing monitor settings in Windows? Try setting things up like this.

Oh god I'm an idiot. I thought I had tested QuickSync before the latest version - turns out I hadn't and *that* is what was stopping me from recording.

Though why would it do that?

The error message says "Make sure you have a (virtual) display connected to your iGPU" so it sounds like you should follow the instructions I linked in my last post.
