I am on a Mac (Tahoe), and want to stream to YouTube. I have a squid proxy server on another Mac that is the one connected to the internet. I can from within OBS, login to you tube etc. For streaming to YouTube, I have configured a socks proxy in the network interface in the operating system, and simultaneously run a ssh client with some parameters that make it a socks proxy to the Mac with the internet connection.
OBS cannot reach YouTube. The way I am thinking this should suppose to work is, OBS knows nothing about proxies and tries to reach YouTube directly. But the OS has the socks proxy configured so it routes the OBS connection to the SSH session running that forwards the traffic to the machine with the internet connection, and therefore to Youtube.
I have used this SOCKS proxy setup in another scenario and it worked. Is there any limitation or block on Youtube side itself that prevents this from working ?
