simpleGray | Dark theme, with customizable highlight color - simplyGray a modern, clean, slim and customizable theme.

Hey,
i've encountered an issue with the new OBS 28 themes.
(They are much too space-consuming for my taste.)

So I revamped the "dark" theme, tried to give it a: darker, clean, modern and space-saving apperance.

Make it yours: (Green isn't for everyone, BUT
Just adjust the "Highlight" variable (see @Image 3) and set your preferred color.

how to install
1. Drag the downloaded file to your OBS Studio Themes folder (C:\Program...

Tpal updated simpleGray | Dark theme + highlight color with a new update entry:

Further polishing: of general elements and some edge cases. + Ease of use/Customizability.

More polishing on:
  • additional/floating windows like: (Advanced Audio Properties, Filters, Tools etc.)
  • Top window docks
  • Plugins like Advanced Scene Switcher

!Text colors are now global variables.
(Easily match the text color, to your highlight colors needs.)

Example:
If you set a yellow "highlight" background color, the white text color is probably not easy to read.
  • "text" variable -> Just set it to a more appropriate RGB...

Tpal updated simpleGray | Dark theme + highlight color with a new update entry:

Decoupled variable "text" and "highlightText", from "windowText"

After some testing, I realized I need a third text variable.
Mainly for text that never changes
and where the element's background color is just a shade of window gray.
The "windowText" variable now takes care of it.

Also some minor tweaks to items/elements, where text colors cannot be changed on state changes.
These elements now use the new color "windowText" and a gray background.

these changes:
should significantly improve the range of possible highlight and text colors.

Hey there! It seems that OBS 30.1.1 has broken the lock and show source icons, so they only show as check boxes. I haven't seen this with any other themes I have installed. I'm using simplyGray 1.3.2 on Windows 10.
Do you know of any way to fix this, or will it require an update?

Thanks! Love the theme

Oh hey, thanks for the tip and sorry for the late reply. Haven't been able to test it yet.
I'm currently in the process of making it compatible with the latest OBS version. If everything goes as planned, it will be ready this evening

Tpal updated simplyGray | Dark theme with customizable highlight color with a new update entry:

simplyGray 1.3.3 for OBS 30.1.1

The advanced scene switcher plugin displays checkboxes instead of expand/collapse icons.
This happens with all themes, including the original OBS themes (as far as I tested)
So I don't have any direct influence on it, maybe it's due to an internal change in OBS or an incoherence in the Advanced Scene Switcher. IDK

Since I already had to play around with the checkboxes, I took the opportunity to make them consistent across OBS, not just in the Settings window.
