Question / Help Pixelated Recording

I'm confused here. I really don't know all that stuff.... Can you help me? Here's the link to a random video i made with my friend and it has 3 issues: Pixelated, Not recording audio from Minecraft, and laggy OBS. Also please tell me how to configure my encoding settings because i had messed it up. Also please tell me exactly how to fix my resoulution. When i upload to YouTube my videos are in 720p. I'm pretty sure i'm recording in 1080p and i'm not changing that. My fps is at 30 and i haven't really changed much.

I also don't know how to find my OBS logs and my setting logs.

Link to crappy video:

I have lost the video file. Also i will be deleting the video soon since it is very crappy. I am just starting youtube and just started using OBS so i am clearly clueless.

Your bitrate is almost assuredly too low in the video. Again, please post a log file if you have issues. Without it, it's difficult to really help.

Oh yeah, and if i set my bitrate above 1150, it says: too long to encode, and the video looks laggy.

Help me dude, Thanks for helping me find my logs file. What the crap am i doing wrong? It's pixelated, video seems laggy and seems to skip seconds and moments... Taking too long to encode....

Indeed, your bit rate is much too low. Try using settings from here: http://obsproject.com/estimator

Alright. I don't know...... It told me to set my bitrate to to 2600 - 3500. I don't know how to change my pixel quality. My YouTube videos are at 720p but it told me to down that to 480p. I enabled CPR and CBR. I don't know how to use capture game. Please tell me 1: how to downgrade my pixels, 2: what resolution minecraft is in, 3: how to use game catpure!

Your bit rate determines the quality of your video. Change your bit rate in Encoding settings.

To use game capture, you simply add a game capture source and select the game you want to capture.

Alright. You helped me with the game capture one. but it takes too long to encode sometimes and i want to record in a different pixel quality.

Your CPU is pretty terrible, so yeah, you will probably be getting that error. You probably won't be able to record in decent quality with that computer. Read this thread for advice on reducing CPU load: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/high-cpu-usage-taking-too-long-to-encode-read-this-first.11641/

Also if you want to see all the videos i made with OBS and different settings, heres my YouTube:

NVM i can record in 2600 bitrate in game capture.

I obviously have been doing something wrong. Maybe because i only allowed OBS to use like 500 MB of ram and all my other 7-9G of ram was dedicated to my Minecraft and My Minecraft server XD

I did the estimator thing. it said my computer was good and i should be able to set my bitrate to like 3500, and my pixels to 720p - 1080p, but i think i have that already set to like that. Except i don't know how to change my pixels off of 720-1080, and i always had my bitrate at 1100. I watched a few videos that may have messed up my settings. It told me not to touch my settings XD

Dodgepong, so lanzcos and bilinear doesn't affect your encoding that much???? Also wtf does resolution downscale do? I know it downs your pixels and your quality and stuff, but what does those numbers mean? What are they equivelant to? I seriously am a noob.

I have moved your posts into a new thread so that you're not hijacking the old thread anymore.

First of all, stop replying to your thread over and over. This isn't a chat room. If you need immediate help, then you should join the chat room.

If you're new at all this, you should probably read the quickstart guide. It will take some learning, so get ready to learn. http://obsproject.com/forum/threads/official-overview-guide.402/

I don't understand the resolution downscale. My videos are now in 480p but i don't really know. Seriously some of the different downscales are equivalent to each other so i don't understand the point of them.

Things have been going kinda great! My videos stopped looking like laggy madness, and they stopped pixelating. But i do want to ask what my resolution downscale would be for 720p. If i want to record in 720p, what should my bitrate and buffer be?
