Question / Help Missing Desktop Audio Device

I'm running the latest version of OBS on a Mac.

I'm a newbie to OBS, but have been setting up some test scenes for a couple of weeks and was getting the hang of it. I hd made several fairly complex scenes with multiple audio and video sources. So I felt pretty good about understanding how to set it up.

I had installed SoundFlower many months ago for another project and I no longer needed it. So I ran the SoundFlower uninstall scripts.

Ever since then, I am unable to capture audio.

When I go into Settings, click the audio tab, the only that shows up on the Desktop Audio Device and Desk Top Audio Device 2 is "Disabled." There are no other options.

Therefore when I try to create an audio output capture source, there are no choices in the Device Drop Down List.

No other software or apps on my Mac seems to have any trouble. The all recognize the default built in speakers or headphones (if they are plugged in.)

I went into SOund Preferenced and Midi Audio Preferences and didn't see anything obviously wrong, although I am no expert in these matters.

In any case, I am completely blocked with looming deadlines on getting this set up. Anyone have any guidance on how to get OBS to re-recognize the built in speakers/built-in audio device on my Mac?

My current log file is below.

Many thanks,
Calvin Powers

i reinstalled sound flower and now OBS is working just fine again. no idea what's actually going on. But I can live with havign soundflower around. i'm not using it but it does not seem to hurt anything.

This is expected. Apple does not provide any native options for audio capture, so something like Soundflower is required.

Sorry for the trouble!

I heard Soundflower was no longer being updated? Is this true? Are there easy alternatives? thanks!
