Question / Help Ilive & obs (help please)

Is there any way I can use OBS to stream to Ilive? they say I need FME but every one knows FME is a pos.
I have tryed entering in there Rtmp link in the server input area of OBS settings and my stream name "there vr of stream key" in the stream key area, but to no avail. I can get FME to work, but sense I have only 1 system to stream from, I must use somthing like OBS so my stream is not covered up with my activity's.

It should work...My guess is that you've entered your information into OBS incorrectly.

idk, i really have tryed everything i can think of. has any one else tryed to stream to this site with any luck?

Can you give an example of the information they give you to stream with?

Don't post your actual stream key, but can you show us what an example stream key looks like, and the RTMP URL?

rtmp://stream.ilive.to/app is there server, followed by a 20 string of random letters and numbers (i4jsngusk3mchaurlf3m) is an example. there is no _ or - to space any of it. I put that in the stream key area as thats the only place I can think it goes. Then it tried rtmp://stream.ilive.to/appi4jsngusk3mchaurlf3m in just server area, then I remembered that it should have been rtmp://stream.ilive.to/app/i4jsngusk3mchaurlf3m how ever, that also did not work. Only thing I have not tried yet is putting the random 20 code in to the "Dashboard key (if any)" on OBS.

Edit: rtmp://85.12.5.150/app & rtmp://50.7.70.74/app are there back up servers that I have also tried.

Very interesting. I went ahead and signed up for an account to test, and the credentials work in FMLE but not OBS. Very strange. I have no idea why that is. I wonder if they validate what encoder you are using or something? I can't understand why that would be the case...

You can try sending them an email, I guess? I'm a bit perplexed as to why it's not working. I've used custom servers elsewhere in the past with OBS with no problem.

I emailed ilive support and they responded thusly:

You can use FFMEPG to broadcast also. I will have to test the OPen broadcaster thing. The only problem I can think of is FMLE send client agent as FMLE, while Opeln broadcaster may not send any client agent. Maybe the protection I put in place to protect our streaming servers will only work when it receives a client agent as FMLE.

Anyway I will test it to see if we can solve the issue.

Hopefully they'll check it out.

If they really do validation based on client agent, I would be curious if Xsplit, FFSplit, or Wirecast work.
