Question / Help HP XW4400 Workstation Upgrades??!!

Hi everyone,

I have this computer and I would like to upgrade it for a mate for his birthday. He wants to record gameplays from ps4 and put them on youtube, but also stream as well. I understand this computer isn't nearly powerful enough as it is to do this. Would anyone have any suggestions as to what to upgrade to allow this, or at least make it better? e.g. motherboards, GPU, CPU upgrades. Budget is around £150, not much but lets see what we can get!

Honestly... not much possible with that LGA775 platform. It's at least 8 years old.
What *might* work if you can get a used Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 CPU (4 cores, 3.2 GHz).
This one might be fast enough to stream or record 720p with 30 fps and maaaaybe 60 fps.
Be aware that his CPU was up to 400 bucks on release and might go on eBay for stupid amount of money even today.

You might want to save up.
You can most likely build a complete new PC for 500 bucks which is powerful enough for streaming and recording.

Also if you want to stream PS4 you will need a capture card (PCI-Express preferably instead of USB 2.0). These cards costs roughly 100-200 bucks alone, depending on make and model.
