Question / Help How do you stress your CPU the least in "Preview Mode"?

Hello everyone,

I recently switched from a 1080p monitor to a 1440p. That means I can't just clone my monitor to my 1080p cature card anymore. Instead I wanna use two instances of OBS. That means I'm gonna game- or window capture my 1440p monitor and "stream" the image to my 1080p monitor where OBS is set to fullscreen preview mode. This way I can capture my 1080p monitor with my capture card and finally stream with my gaming PC.

Since I don't need to stream anything with the first instance of OBS I'm looking for the best settings for preview mode with the least amount of CPU stress. One thing I'm doing is using NVENC instead of x264 but maybe there is more.

I know that LIRIK did this before he got a 4k capture card, but I didn't find any details on what settings he used so I just winged it with my own.

Any input and feedback is appreciated

Okay so it works with basically no additional CPU usage now, which is great but I have another issue I can't resolve.

The full screen preview isn't running at 60fps. It seems to be more like 30 even though everything is set to 60. There must be something missing and/or still not set up correctly. I obviously need the preview to be able to hold 60fps because that's also how my capture card is capturing the monitor with the OBS preview on.

I also switched to OBS studio now but that doesn't solve it. It's still not as smooth as the actual game on my main monitor. It looks like half the fps.

OBS Studio also has this "full screen projector source" mode which seems to be exactly what I'm looking for, but it's also not as smooth as my main monitor.
