Question / Help Harddrive speed measurements

I'm thinking about using a third party program to tst how fast my HDD is at. Thing is which speed should i be looking at? this one test small to large data block transfers.

Should i be looking at the speed of 8KB blocks, 32KB blocks, or something like 512KB blocks? This will help me figure out what i can do with less trail and error

I dont think you need to care about anything else than sequential test tbh. even when you record 50,000 bitrate which is very high for a recording, its only 6,2MB/s so any old PATA (not even sata) and USB2 disk will do fine
