Question / Help Gameplay Audio Capture w/Elgato

Anyone find a workaround with Elgato audio? I use window capture to get the gameplay and use Wiretap to capture desktop audio for my music, but the only way I've found so far to capture gameplay audio is unmute the audio in Game Capture HD software which is obviously annoying because it doubles in my headset from live sound to the sound the software registers a second later. Any tips?

Love the fact OBS is on OSX, shoutout to the devs. Its super easy to use so far, can't wait for additional features in the future

Try putting a video capture device ( i'm assuming its not working for you, because you're using window capture) underneath the window you're capturing in obs. So add the video capture device first, select elgato and "use device audio" so the game audio actually plays. And then put in the window capture on top of the video capture device so you see that, but hear the video captures audio. Not sure if it works the same for mac as windows, but I hope this helps!

It does not work the same way on the Mac, since Elgato does not provide drivers like they do on Windows. The only way I am aware of is to unmute the Game Capture HD audio so that it can be captured by Wavtap.

I use Elgato, and tried Window Capture at first, but stopped using that because of choppiness and audio issues/lag.

What works better, for me, is using the Display Capture for the Elgato and crop the window to fit the game. I use wave tap for the sound (Audio Output Capture) and yeah/sadly Elgato needs to be un-muted, so I plug in my headphones but don't use them, which is not optimal but yeah. For me, this set up, though not as high quality as what I get with streaming with Elgato alone, is a step up (imo/less choppiness and audio lag) from WIndow Capturing the game.

I still use window capture for other things in my stream set up/scene, and it works ok, it's just capturing the Elgato gameplay that I have quality issues with (using window capture).
