Question / Help External Controller for controlling sources

Hello!

Is there a method at the moment where I could use an external device (i.e. a midi device like a Launchpad S) to control the sources in a scene? I know this can be done with keyboard shortcuts, but I'd like to have a simple button pad turn sources on/off.

If not, is there an API I can call to do so, or would I have to write a plugin to achieve this?

A plugin could probably be written to provide such API support.

I just use the builtin hotkeys along with a tablet running AIO Remote (in android market)

The AIO solution looks like a possibility! I'm a bit reluctant to use the builtin hotkeys as some of the software I use has key combos that might overlap.

Where can I find documentation on writing plugins? I'd like to have a look and see the possibilities.

The nice thing about the hot keys in OBS is that they are fully programmable. So you can set them to what you want them to be. I'm going to try it with a Razer gaming keypad or perhaps a mmo mouse to do what you are talking about
