I know I'm beating a dead horse and inviting ire, but I just need to know one thing. If I use something like an elgato and let it do the encoding and not use OBS at all, am I going to have better performance?

I care more about the performance of the game I am playing, than the quality of the video I am streaming.

That'd be a question for Elgato if they do on-device stream encoding, if you aren't using OBS at all.

They have something called Stream Command, and it requires a powerful processor according their website. So that leads me to believe it's still using the CPU heavily. I thought its hardware would be able to encode and stream to twitch, but I don't know. I think I might just buy one and do some testing in the 30 day return period.
