Question / Help Can't preview anything - Black Screen

I'm probably missing something obvious, but I've tried looking and found nothing that helps me.

Basically, I just installed OBS, and just wanted to set it up so it was ready for the next time I used it. I'm getting the issue where my preview screen stays black no matter what I'm doing. The closest I've gotten to seeing anything was trying to get Minecraft FTB to show up and I managed to see the cursor, but the rest of the screen was black.

My main objective at the current moment is to stream an art program (Manga Studio), but also want to be able to stream games like vanilla Minecraft and Minecraft FTB.

The only suggestions I managed to find are to update DirectX. It prompted me to do who when I downloaded OBS, which I did, and now it tells me there is no newer versions to upgrade to.

TL;DR: My DirectX is fully updated, trying to stream a program not a game atm, still getting black screen.

Not sure if this will help but here's the log while trying to get Manga Studio to work.

I messed with the sources for like an hour trying to get them to work so I'm not sure why that's the case :s Guess that just leaves me more confused than I was before LOL

Even when I open OBS, my source is still in there and still set up to Manga Studio.

Woops, it is there, I'm silly and missed it. You're on a laptop though, which has both an integrated and dedicated video card. I'm unsure of the details of doing it, but make sure Manga Studio and OBS are both set to run on the Nvidia card.

If all else fails, use the latest 0.473 test version, and use software capture with the compatibility mode option checked in there, as it will guarantee it to capture for situations like this with multiple-gpu laptops
