Question / Help Broken mp4 video files - 'Cannot render video'

Today I streamed a series of videos from a game to my computer. When quitting the game after recording, the application was not responding and subsequently closed; leaving the resulting video files unconverted and broken.
Is there any way I can convert these files and recover the videos? I still have the mp4s on my desktop and would love to get them working, as I was really excited about the streams I captured.

If anyone could help me out it would be really appreciated.

Thanks!

Unfortunately broken MP4 files are typically quite difficult to recover, you might be able to find some utilities, not sure. If you're using versions older than 0.50 I would really recommend upgrading to the latest builds as I greatly reduced the compile time needed for MP4s there -- though I'll probably assume you are using the latest version

I think recording in FLV might be "safer" since you can still view the file if OBS crashes, and it's easy to convert the file to MP4 without needing to re-encode afterward.
