Question / Help 1Mb upload speed with high end pc (Help with best settings)

Hi there, I have done some research but I cannot seem to find the best settings that will give me a decent stream with the hardware I have.

My specs are as follows:

Processor: Overclocked Intel Six Core i7-3970X (3.5GHz @ max 4.8GHz (currently 4.4GHz)

Graphics Card: 4GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 690 DUAL GPU

Motherboard : ASUS® RAMPAGE IV EXTREME: INTEL X79, SOCKET 2011, R.O.G

Memory : (RAM) 32GB KINGSTON HYPERX BEAST QUAD-DDR3 2400MHz X.M.P

Now my upload speed according to speedtest is 1.1 Mbps so I was wondering what would be the best settings with OBR for my particular setup that would give me the best possible quality on the stream for viewers?

I am bottlenecked by my upload which I understand but there must be some techniques that will get my stream looking better surely? I don't mind streaming 480p as long as the quality looks good for viewers, I play mostly fast paced games such as battlefield and hawken etc.

So I was wondering could anybody help me out?

Many Thanks

I already used that and the quality leaves a lot to be desired, are there not more advanced tweaks that I can implement in order to improve stream quality?

That's because your upload speed is very low for HD streaming and that is the reason why it becomes blurry really quick.

The only thing you can try is to follow the instructions in this topic:

Copy paste from another thread, but relevant here:

To be quite honest, that thread is of dubious use. Most of those settings are default anyway, and the ones that are changed provide questionable benefit. You are much better off putting in the time and effort to research x264 yourself and figure out what is best for you.

Here are two good places to start:
List of all the x264 settings and a brief explanation - http://mewiki.project357.com/wiki/X264_Settings
Table outlining the defaults of the important parameters in each preset - http://web.archive.org/web/201208140410 ... rence.html

Further information can be found by googling each individual setting. The Doom9 forums end up being a good resource for this.

Also, not to trample even more, but Speedtest runs based on dead-file transfer rates which can peak and drop significantly above and below the marketing-number, so long as it averages out in the end. This isn't acceptable for livestreaming, which needs a constant bitrate available.

Run a 6MB test at http://testmy.net/upload and find out what you're actually getting for constant throughput. That's what you'll actually have to work with, as far as OBS settings (and a chunk for any network communications if your chosen game is online multiplayer).

I'd say starting out at 480p would be a very good idea. You'll want to start at 30fps as well, and may have to go down from there to fit within your bandwidth 'budget'. Fast pace/fullscreen motion games plus limited bandwidth tends to equal poor results. May just need to upgrade your connection, if possible.
