How to setup and use YouTube live likes and views counter

  • Application functionality

After you open the program, you simply paste the YouTube url into the desired text field and push the green play button. Once pressed, the software will begin crawling that website and extracting the Likes, Views, and Viewers (for live videos) in real time. Applications crawl the page every 30 seconds to evade IP limitations.

The crawling status and results, such as successful and failed crawls, are displayed in the log pane, along with some basic information about the video.

Successful crawls rewrite three specific files: views.txt, likes.txt, and viewers.txt; these are the files you must import in OBS Studio; for quicker access, simply copy and paste the location from the program interface based on whatever counter you want to display in your livestream.

  • Using OBS Studio Text GDI

Step 1: Copy the file path from YouTube Live Likes and Views Counter Application, this will make it easier for you to locate the file.

Step 2: Open OBS Studio and add a new Text GDI source. You can do this by clicking on the plus sign (+) in the Sources box on the bottom left of the screen, then choose "Text (GDI+)".

Step 3: In the Text (GDI+) Properties window, click on the "Read from file" checkbox under the "Text Settings" section.

Step 4: Click the "Browse" button next to the "Text file" field, and navigate to the location where you saved the text file in Step 1.

Step 5: Customize the text properties, such as font, size, color, and alignment as you wish. You can also adjust the position of the text box by using the drag handles or entering numerical values in the relevant fields.

Step 6: Preview the text by selecting the Text GDI source in the Sources box and entering a test message in the "Text" field. The text should update automatically based on the content of the text file.

Step 7: When you are satisfied with the settings, click "OK" to save the changes and exit the Text (GDI+) Properties window.

Step 8: You can now use the Text GDI source like any other source in OBS Studio, such as resizing, cropping, and positioning it in your scene.

With these simple steps, you can use Text GDI in OBS Studio and create dynamic text overlays for your streams or recordings.
